OPERATION SHOW YOUR DRIVING LICENCE !

The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) is set to begin an "Operation Show Your Driving Licence" in Lagos State.

The Lagos State sector commander of the corps - Mr Hyginus Omeje - made the disclosure of the exercise on Saturday in an Interview.
Mr Hyginus Omeje made it known to the public that the "Operation Show Your Driving Licence" was initiated following the failure of collection of driving licences by the rightful owners.

Mr Omeje frowned at the attitude of road users,driving without their driving licence because the licence is a certification to drive on the road.
A fine of N10,000 has been placed on offenders who would fail to show their valid driving licence and the offender is said to provide the driving licence within 24 hours; failure to do so,would warrant the offender's vehicle to be impounded.

Mr Omeje further stated that the corps were not interested in the monetary fine or depriving anyone the comfort of his vehicle,but advised that motorist should do the right thing by obtaining their driving licence as there is no backlog of new driving licence in Logos State; he also urged road users to be safety conscious.

Governor Ganduje Ask Fulani Herdsmen To Relocate To Kano; Says There Is "Vast Grazing Land In Kano".

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has urged Fulani herdsmen who are in other parts of Nigeria to relocate to Kano state. According to the governor, he said Kano state has a "vast grazing land" that would cater for needs of herdsmen and their cattle. Governor Ganduje spoke during the state exercise which was titled, 'Towards Conservation Of Livestock Resources And Animal Protein For Citizens Of Kano' the exercise was part of activities marking 2017/2018 livestock vaccination programme. He thereby condemned the "recent killings during the clashes between farmers and herdsmen" he said the killings were unacceptable.
